Problem: How to generate a PYUPIP trace on the self service page


Solution:



This type of trace is a method of gathering information on the packages that are being accessed behind these pages.
This trace can help to diagnose issues between the Professional User Interface (PUI) and the self service pages.

1. Using the System Administrator responsibility set the following system profile options at the seeded Employee Self-Service responsibility:

FND: Diagnostics = “Yes”

2. Log into the Oracle instance and choose the Employee Self-Service responsibility.

3. In the top right hand corner, choose the Diagnostics link.

4. Select 'Show Log on Screen' under Diagnostics and click Go.

5. For log level, choose Statement and for Module, enter pay% and click Go.

6. Click on the Home link in the top right hand corner and then navigate the steps to reproduce the issue.

7. On the page, you will see logging information.

8. Disable the logging by click on the Diagnostics link, select 'Show Log on Screen' under Diagnostics and click Go.

9. For log level, choose Turn Off Screen Logging and click Go.

Please use MyOracleSupport note 281071.1 - Generating PYUPIP Information from a Self Service Type Page (.jsp) and follow the directions in that note very carefully.

This trace option generates a lot of information, so it is imperative that you follow the directions in the note specificially.
